The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) is an apex cooperative organization representing the entire Indian Cooperative Movement. The objectives of the Union are “to promote and develop the cooperative movement in India, to educate, guide and assist the people in their efforts to build up and expand the cooperative sector and serve as an exponent”. It publishes “Indian Cooperative Movement – A Statistical Profile” from time to time. This publication is a store house of information about various aspects of cooperatives and the pivotal role they have been playing in the national economy. The Profile is aimed to assist the policy makers and planners in Union and State governments to plan and develop through cooperatives.
