National Cooperative Library-cum-Documentation & Information Centre
 

The Library cum Documentation & Information Centre, situated in NCUI campus, in New Delhi , plays a vital role in the National Cooperative Movement in India. It has a large and fine collection of literature on Cooperation and allied subjects since the establishment of the organization in 1929. Since its establishment the collection of literature grew and the current holdings of the library is over 8000 books and 100 journals, newsletters, bulletins , annual reports, news paper articles, articles downloaded from various websites and related material. The books on allied subjects which support cooperatives are from Management, Consumer, Rural development, Education, Economics, Marketing, Banking, Law, Agriculture and Finance.  However, a large number of books on Cooperation in India and Abroad forms the major part of our collection.  We have an exclusive collection of journals (bound volumes) namely “Cooperator” and “Indian Cooperative Review”, published by our organization since 1937 and 1964 respectively. 

The Library is attached to the National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE) and supports Diploma and Leadership Development programmes conducted by the centre  in terms of research and reference to the participants. The Library has a reference section, lending section, periodical section, newspaper section  and current awareness section.

The Library is utilized by cooperative researchers , policy makers, professors and students from various universities and by participants of different refresher courses conducted by the organization.

The Library maintains its data base  (Winisis-CDS/ISIS) of cooperative publications and is available for research and reference.
