The International Day of Cooperatives to be observed on Saturday, 2nd July 2016 and the theme for the year 2016 International Day of Cooperatives is “Co-operatives : The power to Act for a Sustainable Future”. Details on celebration and the theme is given below :

Fostering Leaders to Reinforce Business Development of Agricultural Cooperatives in FY-2016”, to be held from 17 July – 06 August 2016 at IDACA, Tokyo, Japan

The last date of receiving nomination at NCUI is 7th June 2016. No nomination will be accepted after the due date i.e. 7th June 2016.


ICA – AP and National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) of Korea will be organizing a Joint Workshop for Cooperative Leaders in Asia – Pacific on “Agricultural Cooperatives Systems in Korea” from 25-29 April 2016 in Seoul.

The board and lodging cost (twin sharing basis) and internal travel in Korea from 25-29 April 2016 shall be borne by the NACF, Korea.  However, the international airfare of the participant will have to be borne by the sponsoring organization. There will be total Fifteen (15) participants from the Asia Region and the nominated candidates should be approx. 40 years of age, with a minimum of 3 – 5 years experience/exposure of working in an agricultural cooperative and fluent in English as the working language of the workshop will be in English. 

To nominate suitable candidate (having experience/exposure of working in an agricultural cooperative) for the above workshop, you may send the duly filled nomination form along with passport details (enclose the scanned copy of the passport also for reference) positively by 19th March 2016. You may please send the nomination through email to dineshncui@india.coop with CC to  riteshdeyncui@india.coop.  Please note that nomination only from agricultural cooperatives will be accepted. 

ICA – AP and NACF Korea encourage the participation of women and youth for such workshop.  Nomination received after the due date will not be considered.


Asia Pacific Regional Conference on Rural Finance & Community Development on 23 – 25 March 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand:

Asia-Pacific Rural & Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA) in partnership with the Asia Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutes (APAARI) is organizing Asia Pacific Regional Conference on Rural Finance & Community Development on 23 – 25 March 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. The venue of the event will be Avani Riverside Hotel in Bangkok. The theme of the conference is “Responding to people–centred & Innovative Financial Approached towards sustainable Development & Inclusive Growth”.

Prominent individuals & experts in the field of rural finance & community development will be invited to share their ideas, perspectives and experiences with the aim to build new areas for collaborative partnership through shared knowledge including technologies, processes, services, strategies, practices and cooperative research towards increase productivity, profitability and sustainable rural / agricultural development.

The conference fees per participant is USD 300 i.e. Rs. 20,000/- approximate which includes conference meals, kits & materials, field visits etc. The participants have to arrange their travel cost from India to Thailand and hotel accommodation in Bangkok.
